About Phil Crissman

I’m Phil.

I’m an entrepreneur interested in information architecture, web software for the consumer and the enterprise, and the future of internet technology. Currently on my radar are Ruby on Rails and related frameworks, the Ruby and Python programming languages, “Web 2.0” software for the enterprise, and the implementation of meta-content layers over the web (see Shiftspace).

I study Computer Science at Metropolitan State University, and I work as a Systems Analyst at Oracle Corporation.

I live in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul), Minnesota, and my wife Amy and I are members of The Creek Community.

I enjoy most sorts of music, particularly jazz, avant-garde/noise, early punk rock & heavy metal, rock music, classical music, and folk music.

My hobbies include writing and maintaining this blog, messing around with various flavours of Linux, playing guitar, reading, and collecting last year’s Xbox games.

It should go without saying, but… the ideas and opinions expressed on this website are my own, and do not and should not be taken to reflect the ideas or opinions of Oracle Corporation, my school, my church, my neighbors, or any other persons or organizations living, dead, active or inactive with which I’ve had interaction at any point ever.
